Teachers love working at Red Balloon of the Air because:
- classes are 1:1 or in groups of typically no more than four learners,
- learning programmes are individually tailored to address gaps and build the learner’s awareness of their ability to succeed;
- our holistic provision model enables learners to engage and rebuild through a supportive, gradual approach;
- we belong to a committed, inclusive and collaborative professional team.
Who we are
RBAir is a special educational provision offering a hybrid of online and face-to-face support to learners aged between 11 (Year 7) and 20 (last admission at age 18). We welcomed our first learners in 2011, since when we have supported many young people to re-engage with their education, and achieve qualifications alongside, building up confidence in their social skills and improving their wellbeing.
Is this for you?
You will teach Maths at various levels up to and including GCSE, encompassing 1:1 in-Centre sessions at the Red Balloon Educational Trust Learning Hub in Danbury, Essex, and individualised or group sessions online. We have a comprehensive suite of online teaching resources on PowerPoint, allowing you to monitor and support the learners’ progress in real time. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the wider enrichment curriculum, for example PSHE and Online Community.
If you have …
- a degree in Maths or a related subject;
- Qualified Teacher Status;
- the adaptability to deliver a ‘Stage not Age’ approach to individual learning and development;
- a nurturing, non-judgmental attitude and a commitment to the wellbeing of young people with social and emotional mental health needs
… we’d love to hear from you!
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required.
